Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition has just released the results of the world wine and spirits tasting of the 2017 edition. Our three DOQ Priorat wines presented to the competition have been awarded:
- Els Igols 2006 Gold
- Clos Mustardó white 2014 Gold
- Clos Mustardó red 2012 Silver
The jury of Catavinum has emphasized that the wines are very intense and have complex aromas, full-bodied and well balanced high and very persistent.
Els Igols is our wine made with old vineyards on steep slopes of slate, essence of the Priorat. Mustardó, an extra of our vines of Mas del Mustardo, the most northern DOQ Priorat estate and one of the highest.

For the realization of the competition, were tasted 3480 wines and spirits from over 20 countries were submitted to the contest, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Greece, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, United States…
The objectives of this competition are:
- Inform consumers and professionals on the quality of awarded wines and spirits, helping the dissemination and communication of the result.
- Provide a guide to 80% of consumers who expect international references on wines and liquors.
- Enhance the production and processing of quality wines and spirits.
- Contribute to spreading the culture of wine and spirits.
