Italy confirms this year its position as a first world producer, followed by France and Spain.
Last week the OIV presented references about estimated world wine production in 2016 at 25.9 billion liters, a decrease of 5% if we compare to 2015.
In 2016, Italy confirmed its position as the world’s leading producer (48.8 million Hl, -2% compared to 2015), followed by France (41.9 million Hl, -12% compared to 2015) and Spain (37, 8 Mill. Hl, + 1% respect to 2015).
