Thirteen DOQ Priorat wines from 2006 vintage took part on Sunday, 1st May, in the DOQ Priorat Decade Tasting, which took place at VITEC’s facilities – Wine Technology Park.

The Tasting of the Decade is considered an exercise of sharing different opinions of the attendees, members of wineries and professionals who come from different areas (sommeliers, specialized press, academic world…), and is designed to deepen the knowledge of DOQ Priorat wines.

Els Igols 2006, the wine from old vines in slopes, took part. Participants appreciated its good character and the good evolution that it presented ten years after its elaboration, coinciding in highlighting it as one of the surprises of the day.

Among the participants was the best sommelier of Spain 2016, José Pelegrín; The best sommelier of Catalonia and Spain 2012, Sergi Figueras; Wine critic and journalist, Ramon Francàs; Head of the Wine Guide from Catalonia, Jordi Alcover and the responsible for the Vinologue Guide and collaborator of the Jancisrobinson.com website, Miquel Hudin. The presidency was held by the dean of Oenology’s Faculty of the University Rovira and Virgili, Joan Miquel Canals; Member of DOQ Priorat tasting panel, José Ángel Maestro; Teacher of School of Enology from Falset, Toni Alcover, and the VITEC’s head, Sergi de Lamo.
