Peñín group has recently released the 27th edition of the Spanish Wine Guide, a guide that references 225 wines from DO Montsant.
The guide, the most influential in Spain, values as Excellent or Very Good 99% of the wines from DO Montsant that have been submitted to the analysis of their tasting team.
There are 81 wines that have equaled or exceeded 90 points, which the guide considers “Excellent”, full of olfactory and gustative nuances produced by the set of values that bring the varieties, soils, Processing and ageing.
For Very Good wines, with scores from 85 to 89 points, the number reaches at 142 wines. For the guide, they are wines that emphasize the nuances of the variety or those acquired during the winemaking and ageing process.
In this sense, it should be added that the guide also values in many wines of the DO Montsant a parameter such as the relationship between quality and price. 10% of the Montsant wines tasted have an excellent value for money, 25% a very good value for money and 9% a correct value.
